A couple of weeks ago, I was walking around the Dry Canyon area of Redmond, Oregon, when I decided to move into a Juniper stand to check for birds. As I walked around a bush, I came face-to-face with a doe Mule Deer. I've seen deer in the Dry Canyon before, but none the size of this does.
We stood there staring at each other for a moment or two, when she turned and slowly walked deeper into the trees. As I watched her leave, my eyes recognized something else in the area.

Beautiful shots of the mule deer! The buck is awesome!
What a fantastic experience! Both photos are amazing - well done.
I'm SO jealous!! How come the deer and moose never do that with me? You are so fortunate, and you were prepared! Beautiful photographs.

Wow, great story and photos. I once had an encounter just like yours with a deer. I was scared at first they quickly realized the deer was not going to hurt me in any way.
AWESOME! As you know I LOVE deer, and would love to have an experience like this. Great shots!
