Camera Critter Sunday No. 4

I always have my eyes working overtime when I am out on a photo safari. If my eyes aren't scanning back and forth, up and down, wherever I walk, I'd miss a lot of photo ops.

Take this week's Camera Critter Meme.

I was at a lake area north of where I live (Lake Billy Chinook for those interested) last August and was hot on the tail of a whiptail lizard. As I pushed my way through sage and other weeds, out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of a color which didn't fit.

Glancing over, I saw this Soldier Beetle having fun at the end of a twig. I decided the lizard could wait and squatted down to watch this fellow. He totally ignored me while performing interesting and comical feats of acrobatics at the tip of the sage plant. He also ignored me as I snapped away.

I now present the best from the acrobatic soldier shot.

You are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME, my friend! One of these days, you and I are going on a photo shoot together! OK, maybe we'll have to go on two - one in your territory and one in my territory, so we can show each other around.

This is SO cool, and I do the same thing - taking note of every movement, every bit of color, etc.

By the way - I give him a "10" for form. It would have been a 9, but his pretty coloring (and the smile for the camera) bumped it up to a 10!

I never look for bugs, i guess i don't like them so best not to look.I do have one that i want to share the next time i post on here.

Oh and also laughed at your other post about the goat.

What a great shot. I am currently learning to photograph insects. It isn't always easy I find. :) I'm learning though. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoyed the large version of the photo. It's amazing. I can't wait till I can do bug shots (no bugs yet, still). The color of this one is wonderful.
