Camera Critter Time Again

It's Camera Critter Sunday time of the week again. And keeping with the prehistoric look theme, may I present a Western Fence Lizard.

Not only do I love this image, but most folks who have seen it, love it also. I found this little fella in the badland areas near the old golf course in Redmond. I first saw him on top of a tree stump and as I approached him, he disappeared down the side. I have a lot of shots of these common lizards, but none showing the underside which is a gorgeous blue color. So I approached the stump slowly and moved around the side of it even slower until I saw the lizard. He was in perfect position for the shot, so I took a couple, moved a little more, took a couple more, moved a little more and he disappeared.

But I got what I wanted. I hope you all like it.

Ummmm, in case I never told you... I LOVE LOVE LOVE your pics of this guy! These are some of my favorite pics EVER. (yeah, yeah, I know I've told you before, but who's counting? hehe) He is about the coolest lizard-photography-model I've ever seen (too bad he didn't stick around for autographs hehe). I'm so glad you decided to post this!

Hey everyone - if you click on the pic to see it larger, I guarantee it will take your breath away!!!

Great angle on that critter. He is sure checking you out. If he disappeared right after, maybe he didn't like what he saw. Why oh why won't critters stay put long enough to pose?

oh wow, that is fantastic! I wonder why those lizards are blue on the bottom. Coloring has to offer some sort of advantage, but here I can't imagine what. Great great shot.

How neat! I've never seen one that looked like that. Of course, living in PA, we don't have things like that running around here. Now rattlesnakes, yeah, we got plenty of them!

Very nice picture. I like these types of pictures because different areas have different types of creatures. I don't think I'd ever find something like that in my neck of the woods.
