A while back, I mentioned that I knew winter had arrived in the northern reaches of the high desert by the arrival of the Dark-eyed Juncos. They spend the summers in the higher elevations and move into the lower elevations for colder weather.
But it is warming in central Oregon, and the breeding season is coming soon and with all that, the juncos will be moving back into the mountains, to once again await the next winter.
And when that happens, I'll miss the little guys and gals.

Dark-eyed Junco's seem to be around a lot here in the wintertime. Pretty little bird and enjoyed your photo of this one.
They are really pretty! They've got more color variation than the Juncos I see here.
Nice bird there.
Beautiful bird!

They are adorable. I'd miss them, too!
Our fine feathered friends give us so much pleasure!!
It's nice to see birds that we don't have out here in California (or at least I don't recognize them). This is a pretty little guy!
As long as I see juncos here in Iowa I know we are going to get snow again, and sure enough we had 3 inches this AM, wish they would move north.
What a beautiful bird.
