I went out shooting with a new lens Sunday morning. It was the Canon 70-300mm IS zoom. It was the first time I used it since its arrival Friday afternoon.
I read reviews of the lens and most people compared it to some of the Canon L lenses for sharpness. My initial tests seem to agree with that assessment even though I have never used an "L" lens. One thing for sure...it is sharper than the 75-300mm IS zoom I was shooting before getting this one.
It is also lighter, quieter and quicker on focus. And contrary to most reviews I have read, it is better built than the lens it replaced...or it seems that way. Overall, its a good lens.
I posted only one photo from the Sunday Photo Safari. It's on the Flickr photostream if you're interested.
